Title: Virtual Reality and Perceptions

Description:

Participants in this study will be asked to complete (Part 1) an online survey and sign up toward the end of the survey to participate in (Part 2) a lab session during which they will use the virtual reality headset to view four short video clips (each under 1 minute) and answer a brief questionnaire. The lab session will take place in the Social Media Lab in the basement of the Malpass library.

Phases

Phase I Online Survey; Phase II Lab session involves using VR headset and answering a brief questionnaire.

Duration:

The Part 1 online survey takes about 5-8 minutes to complete; the Part 2 lab session takes around 20 minutes.
Consult instructor for extra credit available.

Number of Participants: Up to 200

Location of Data collection:

Part 1 ; Part 2 Lab session takes place in the Social Media Lab in the basement of the Malpass Library.

Start Date: Access to Survey 1 is available immediately. Signup for the lab session will be made available at the end of the survey.

End Date: Access to the lab session will end on Nov. 20, 2026 for this semester.

Data collection dates and times: Part 1 Survey is available anytime until Nov. 20, 2026.
Lab session time slots are available from Monday to Friday from Oct. 21 to Nov. 20 th , 2026.
